Get Fit Magna, the 1st Canada-wide Magna Challenge, will start on September 10th 2018. The challenge will run for 4 weeks, ending October 5th 2018.
The purpose of the challenge is to increase physical activity amongst all Magna employees. Canadian physical activity guidelines recommend that, to achieve health benefits, adults should accumulate at least 150 minutes of exercise each week. Unfortunately, many of us fall short of this recommendation each week.
For the purpose of this challenge, exercise minutes must be structured and intentional. This can include brisk walking, running, hiking or riding, joining an exercise class, or playing a sport—any activity that you enjoy! Please note, steps accumulated by simply walking at work do not count towards intentional exercise minutes.
There will be weekly draw prizes for anybody who achieves the recommended 150 minutes for the week. At the end of the challenge, there will also be prizes for the overall individual winners (top 3 point earners), overall division winners for points and participation, and individual winners from each division (top 3 point earners).
