Not so surprising fact of the day: Shift work is not easy!
This week, we are offering two "top tips" to maintain balance in your life while adapting to a changing shift schedule.
1. Keep a consistent eating schedule.
Sleep deprivation can disrupt your appetite. Try to maintain the same eat/wake schedule (this may mean eating "breakfast" at dinner time).

2. Make your bedroom a comforting sleep environment.
Sleep when you can! Always give your body time to recover before starting the day/night. Just like a cell phone, your body requires a routine "recharge." Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep per day.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine prior to bed. On your way home from work, wear dark sunglasses to block out sunlight, and if possible, avoid running errands.
Power off, lower the volume, and turn off unnecessary electronics.
